I was born in Detroit Michigan many moons ago, and was exposed to a lot of different music. My mother and father listened to the big bands and my older sisters were bobby sockin' around the house to Elvis, the Big Bopper and so on. I started playing drums at 15 years of age for a local basement band; we played mostly Motown songs. A bit later on Jimi Hendrix and Ted Nugent came along and I wanted to start playing guitar and that has remained my first love in music ever since. I played in several bands in the Detroit area for many years, then in 1993 I moved to the Nashville area, not to become a star..lol.. but because my job dictated it. As far as influences the list would be way too long, but I give credit to Ted Nugent for getting me started playing guitar and as for bands, I'd have to say, The Dixie Dregs, and Dream Theater rank at the top of my list. As most musicians, my insturment is an avenue of self-expression. I don't care to copy or sound like anyone else, I just play what my feelings tell me to play. That surly doesn't mean I wouldn't like to play like Eric Johnson and the like, technically, but that's lack of practice on my part! Two of the dreams I had when I was young have come true, being able to record affordably at home with good quality and a way to collaborate with other musicians, which this site makes possible.
