James will be headlining the Baltic’s largest music festival, Positivus, for the second time this summer and tickets are on sale now for the very reasonable sum of 51 Euros (about £44) for 2-day camping tickets. The band are scheduled to appear on the main stage on Saturday 16th July at about 11:30pm. Other acts already confirmed are Editors and Hurts, with many more listed on the festival’s website and more to be announced over the coming weeks. The 20,000-capacity event is set amid the beautiful landscape of coastal town Salacgriva, northern Latvia, and is said to have a unique charm. The festival grounds encompass beach and lush woodland, along with plenty of fresh air. Festivalgoers desiring a break from the entertainment will find there are hammocks slung between pine trees in the woods for your use, dunes to explore, or you can have a splash in the Baltic Sea to refresh yourself. Positivus 2011 promises a diverse program on two main stages, a Dance Marquee and a further music stage with local and Baltic independent acts, as well as a Theatre and Literature Stage, the Body and Soul Area, Beach Stage, Cinema Tent and numerous indie market stands with handmade art, fashion and vintage wares. The festival camp site offers complimentary coffee. The festival is accessible from all of Europe via Riga International Airport, which is 120 km away on the Via Baltica highway. Children are welcome and those under the age of 10 can attend free of charge.
