About

Coming from a long line of noted musicians, father soul singer Otis Jackson Sr, uncle world famous jazz musician John Faddis, brother of hip hop producer Madlib, Oh No the Disrupt is one the West Coasts finest producers and MC's to be reckoned with. This was noted by Urb Magazines Next 100 choice as well as numerous mentions in the XXL, Source Mag and numerous other publications. Those that have been following Oh No have known this from the very beginning.

Oh No began honing his skills around the age 8. As the son of a father who had his own success as a soul singer, and the brother of one of the most sought after producers, it only makes sense that Oh No has music in his blood. Following his brothers footsteps in 1986, Oh No was heavily influenced in his new found passion for hip-hop. As a practicioner of what is known as the four elements of hip-hop (Breakdancing, Graffiti, Dj'ing, and Mcing) Oh No found solace with fellow Oxnard friends J-Duce, No Bonez and Black to from a group called the "The X-men" this was in 1991 and at this time Oh No was still primarly known as an MC. After going through a few other groups, and other adventures, Oh No began tinkering with production in 1994. This was then with a Korg Keyboard and an SP12. Since then, Oh No has switched to, and became a master of the MPC2000.

Oh No has been stirring much interest of late in the music industry. Having done outside production for the likes of De La Soul, Alchemist, Elzhi, Bishop Lamont, Visionaries, Frank N Dank, LMNO, Murs, Wildchild, , Wise Intelligent of PRT, Ag of DITC fame, Chino XL, Juggaknots, Slick Rick, Roc C among others. Oh No's first solo LP dropped on the Independent stalwart Stones Throw Records home to Madlib (Quasimoto), Jaylib, MadVillian, and most recently J-Dilla. Titled “The Disrupt” itwas released worldwide on Oct. 5th,  2004 with the lead single being Move Pt.2 produced by J-dilla and featuring Roc C.  2005 consisted of much touring and production work for OhNo. 2006 saw the release of Oh No's highly successful release Exodus Into Unheard Rhythms. Many are billing it a concept album since Oh No was given the rights to sample Galt Macdermott's (of Hair fame) entire catalog. Working with artists on the project such as Posdnuos (De La Soul), AG, Buckshot, Planet Asia & Rasco, Vast Aire, among a slew of others.  Now 2007 upon us his newest creation Dr No's. Oxperiments will be released in the summer. An instrumental album made up from obscure Turkish, Greek and Italian music. Already with 4 outta 5 mics in Source Magazine, this has been deemed the instrumental album of the year. Much of Oh No's music can now be heard in the video game field including various Tony Hawk games, multiple 2k6 sport titles, a Smirnoff Ice campaign, as well as a special video of his single “Chump” on the DVD Dirty (a lighter take of Training Day) starring Cuba Gooding Jr. With all this said and done, the rest of the world is ready to scream “Oh No!!!”
