By birth, Nu Chilly is from the Gambia  West Africa. He is a singer and songwriter, inspired by reggae warriors such as Bob Marley, Burning Spear and Dennis Brown.

Nu Chilly started singing with local drumming groups in the Gambia , in particular a group called Roots Calypso, where he sang lead vocal for 5 years before travelling to Europe. He lived and performed in Germany and Switzerland.  He now resides in London.

In 2000, travelling back to the Gambia , he met members of the Suns of Light who motivated him to produce music with passion. He then studied music at The Sunland Music School in the which greatly helped him with his quest. After the music course, Nu Chilly released a single called "New Chilly Rise". It was a hit in the and beyond for a long time, and as a result he was signed by the Suns of Light with whom he recorded his first album "The Children".

Nu Chilly’s famed single ‘Rise’ rose to a higher level after it received the blessing of a conventional video shoot. Shot on the recent internationally acclaimed high standard music video format ‘Green Screen’, the cultural reggae’s clip meets all classical criteria for wider broadcast in big television stations. Yanks, in his czonex emblem, created the script, story board, shot and edited the clip.

Nu Chilly, who aims to release his debut album, ‘The Children’, before the end of the year, will shoot the video of the title track, on the same conventional green screen format, soon. He is becoming more and more international with the help of strong promotion and working with the "Movement", who first signed him on a compilation in the UK.

Nu Chilly is now based in the UK where he is promoting his first album "The Children" and working as a performing artist with strong global promotion and a good fan base. This CD, which is very motivational and inspiring is a "MUST BUY" CD.
