"As part of my many promotional duties, visiting San Diego Comic-Con is one of my tougher jobs. Part of this year’s assignment found me with a layover in Salt Lake City. Admittedly this was something I wasn’t too excited about. Trying to avoid becoming Mormon, and with nothing to do, I stopped in for a drink at a local live music lounge near my hotel. Now I have to say, I have seen hundreds of live shows across the U.S. What I witnessed that night was life changing. They call themselves Numbskull Trio. These boys were so freaking tight it sent chills up my bone post! Three dudes pounding it out like a well oiled machine! It wasn’t just me! I looked around at the faces of their average sized crowd and I saw the same stunned look that I was sure I was sporting. They left me BLISTERED! I didn’t know it at the time, but this would end up being the highlight of my whole trip. Now I have a reason to go back to Salt Lake City. Oh, that and the City is crawling with hot women!"
“Numbskull Trio - This is music to listen to when you’re just pissed and want to break everything in sight. “She’s a Bitch” is one of the catchier songs on the forthcoming CD from this crazy metal band who’ve been grinding their teeth on electric guitar strings since at least ’95. The album is tentatively scheduled for release in late May. I’m not a huge fan of metal myself, but I love NST’s new stuff. I really, really do. Any Calibra, Thunderfist or Unlucky Boys fan will soon have a new favorite to add to their Utah rock list—if they haven’t already. I worked with a therapist last year who taught me the cheesy “hit the pillow” technique. Yeah, you got it: Now I get my frustrations out to Numbskull Trio. Thanks for the healing, guys!
