“Power thrash quintet Northern Lights stormed the stage with a blistering set that just about blew the roof off the place. Singer Christopher Davidson was particularly impressive with his confident and soaring vocals, particularly on ‘The Viking’, during which he conducted a little audience sing along using a drumstick as a baton. The guitar work of Lyndon Boyer and Lee Pickup was wondrously high octane, and I thought their combination on ‘What Is Dead May Never Die’ was greatly reminiscent of Iron Maiden. Chris “so fast they called him Mansell” was outstanding throughout but I felt he did particularly well on ‘Hell Again’ and ‘Sabbath Stein’, the latter title apparently coming from the band’s love of Black Sabbath and Rammstein. But the real star of the show was definitely Davidson, who fully lived up to the frontman title as he held long notes, prowled the stage and led the audience in chants of the band’s name.....
