VERSE 1
Back in the day there was this guy I knew called Grim
Though no one really knew why, but that was what people called him
And so, so did I, although I did surmise, that it was probably on account
Of the fact that no one had ever actually seen him smile

I mean, like, don’t get me wrong, he was funny guy, just dry,
That’s just how he was, and I never asked him why,
See he was prone to the occasional violence but only when provoked,
And I have to say that, usually ,I found him to be a reasonable kinda bloke

Now I had a bit of a thing for Spanish girls at that time
When Grim told me,on the quiet like,that your Latin girls they like wine.
So I told him to do the necessary and to see what he could find
And Grim told me, he could errrr... acquire for me all of the
latin girls I liked

So I got two bottles of Cab Sav and Grim came round with these two girls with him
But one of ‘em was Rita Green and she went to school with our kid
I said, “C’mon Grim! What’s this?” He said, “Oi! Thas enough of your lip.”
And with that, he took his girl, and all the wine, and he split

So then its was just me and Rita, and I said, “Are you really Spanish?”
And she said, ”I’m not sure, but one my mum got drunk in Madrid.”
And she had this way of smiling, and I have to admit
That yeah, you know, I did kinda fancy her a bit.

And so I have to thank Grim for doing the introduction
Cos once we started talking and talking slipped into seduction
I loved how her bottle-blond hair framed her mascara-massacred eyes,
And she had a little spot on her cheek that disappeared when she smiled

We took things kinda slow at first right
Cos it weren’t exactly love at first sight
Or even love at first bite
Or even love on that first night

But I was still there in the morning come first light
Which was good for me especially on a work night
And in the end it weren’t exactly the worst night
In fact, all in all, it was quite the reverse like

We saw each other a lot over the next fortnight
And we started seeing each other more and more right
She still kept insisting she was Spanish by birth rite
And that was close enough for me cos, she was alright
