NEVERMIND is the ULTIMATE TOURING NIRVANA TRIBUTE! Nevermind is the most active touring tribute to one of the most popular grunge bands of all time: NIRVANA. Formed in 1991, this power trio of siblings has the chemistry, stage presence, and sound to match Nirvana. The band has over 80 Nirvana songs in their catalogue plus also offered is the entire MTV UNPLUGGED IN NEW YORK acoustic show (plus Cellist) which is now considered a classic amongs rock critics and Nirvana fans. Nevermind's 2006-2008 tours has taken them to cities in such states as ARKANSAS, CONNETICUT, RHODE ISLAND, MARYLAND, PENNSYLVANIA, KENTUCKY, COLORADO, ARIZONA, MISSOURI, ALABAMA, OHIO, INDIANA, ILLINOIS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, NEW JERSEY, NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA,TENNESSEE, WISCONSIN, IOWA, GEORGIA, NEW YORK, FLORIDA, TEXAS, CALIFORNIA and the band has even been to MONTERREY MEXICO and THE VIRGIN ISLANDS.... While in Washington, the band has also had the honor to meet with LELAND COBAIN (Kurt Cobain's grandfather).

Nirvana's music is very relevant in today's media and is featured in video games (BASEBALL 2K7 and GUITAR HERO II), T.V. Shows (ABC's "LOST" and CBS's "COLD CASE") and Nirvana's influence are even found in footware (Kurt Cobain Converse Shoes). Their is a younger generation of fans discovering Nirvana that are joining generation X in an overwhelming demand for Nevermind's Nirvana Tribute show. Expect the band to wear clothes similar to Nirvana's, the same guitars and basses, stage props, and the sound and vibe of Nirvana. -- Mission Statement --

The Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee is a non-profit organization based in the city of Aberdeen, Washington. Formed in March of 2004, our goal is to memorialize Aberdeen-native Kurt Cobain, lead singer/guitarist of the band Nirvana, within the Aberdeen city limits.

After numerous meetings, talk-radio appearances, a public forum, and feedback from fans across the world, we have set three initial goals, the first two being short-term and the third a long-term project:

(COMPLETED)Public signage at the East Aberdeen bluff area, near the current “Welcome to Aberdeen” sign: Our sign would either be an addition to the current structure or a separate adjacent sign, reading: “Come As You Are”

A Kurt Cobain Memorial Park, complete with memorial-related art, including a graffiti wall: Our objective is to purchase two parcels of land in downtown on the main arterial in Aberdeen with the goal of creating the above and offering adequate parking. An artist and architect will be commissioned to help with the design. Estimated cost of this project, including acquisition of land, is $125,000.

A Youth Center: Of the thousands of people we heard from, this was by far the most desired project. Upon completion of the initial two goals (see above), we will focus heavily on this project. Possible suggestions have ranged from an all-ages music venue to an artistic and musical place where local kids can go to get off the streets.

The Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee is a perpetual committee with ever-expanding goals. Future events will include concerts, art festivals and more.
