After Nikki Talley was awarded the title of CAROLINA STAR  (the american idol-esque competition in western north carolina with over 300 competitors and a $10,000 prize!) in JUNE 2007,she picked up her guitar, her mother's banjo & her brother's charango...nikki performed, produced, recorded & mixed a new record with the earnings from the Carolina Star contest with guest appearances from friends:Mike Guggino (Steep Canyon Rangers), Tim Gardner (High Windy Band), Richard Foulk, Aaron Price, & Jason Sharp... she released her third album...

due to the success of TO BE A BIRD, she has toured the southeast & gained many new fans…she recently (april 16, 2009)opened for Susan Tedeschi @ the Orange Peel to a 500+ crowd here in Asheville w/ a wonderful reception...

a self taught & captivating musician...mesmorizing audiences with her energetic stage performance, her powerful voice & strongly emotional and seductive lyrics, nikki's songs are very unique and each one gives us different look inside the artist...

past shows/events/venues include: the orange peel, the grey eagle, bele chere, evening muse (charlotte), the cave (chapel hill), kings (raleigh), roy thompson hall (toronto), key west's famous sunset celebration, recieving a grant from the local arts council and recording her debut 'brother', opening for edwin mccain, susan tedeschi, participating in a local professional theatre production of rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch
