NEW WAVE NIGHT WITH: NEON KROSS (Daniel of Rezurex & the Deep Eynde) the VERY FREE SHOW! DOORS: 9 PM / SHOW: 10 PM NEON KROSS: Frozen in time in 1984, Neon Kross has emerged from the cold chill of space to infect the masses with dark and "dancey" new wave music. The Los Angeles based group makes melodic synth rock songs that are catchy, romantic, creepy and fun. Fronted by the enigmatic Daniel deLeon of Rezurex and Deep Eynde fame, they have developed a strong fan base in the Los Angeles area in the short period of time they have been playing out. The band was created as a side project of Daniel and McCoy (Pins and Needles) who had collaborated previously in the recording studio. The popularity of the band quickly grew in the familiar haunts of the underground darkwave clubs of Los Angeles. The band has since expanded beyond their goth roots with the addition of Chinatsu, a classically trained keyboardist from Japan, and Jake (Pins and Needles) on drums. Neon Kross is now polished and ready for a more broad based audience. Demo songs created in the home studio of Daniel and McCoy have recently been featured in an independent film, "A Numbers Game," for which they created the title track of the same name. Neon Kross is not a contemporary spin on the music of the 1980s or a trendy 80s inspired band. They are the 80s incarnate, champions of music that some have forgotten but everyone still loves. the VERY: If you have rocking guitars and '80s keyboards reverberating in your ears, and two fab guys and two fashionable girls sparkling in your eyes, chances are you're at a show of San Diego's newest new new wave band, The Very. Consisting of Phil Inzunza (guitar/lead vocals), Lex Pratt (keyboard/vocals), and Diana Death (bass/vocals), the band takes their name from an oft-quoted line in the dark comedy Heathers: "you are so very...."The Very's music is inspired equally by brooding teen angst and nostalgic cool. Their sound is full of elements from the past and present with a wide range of influences, from the Pixies to the B-52's. The Very's lyrics, which are generated organically according to the mood of the music, are playful and purposely nonsensical, but deeply passionate, edgy, and clever enough to keep you interested and wanting more.
Dark Justice October 13, 2012 PRESS RELEASE Dark Justice Event Date: November 24th 2012 9pm-2am Contact: Chrystal & Ralph 310-874-8106 firstname.lastname@example.org Los Angeles, Calif………..Despite the ongoing progression that continues to be made on a daily basis in regards to race, sexuality and religious beliefs, there are still those who continue to be persecuted. The reasons? The music they choose to enjoy . . . The clothing they choose to wear . . . The different lifestyle they choose to live . . . If this sounds like a joke, it’s not. Although the Dark/Alternative/Goth community has been around for several decades now, they are still deemed as "freaks" by the general public. The irony is that many consider such a slur as a compliment, preferring to be a counterpoint to what society deems "normal". There are however normal aspects to their lives. One of these is having a job. They use the same office supplies, deal with the same annoying customers and complain about the same clueless bosses at the end of the day . . . Yet they are not being treated equally in the workplace, subjected to harassment, discrimination and retaliation because of their uniqueness. Dark Justice is an effort by this community to raise funds to assist in legal issues involving such attacks. Dark Chrystal and Ralph Nigmatic who have a long term relationships with the community, coordinating club nights and shows are teaming up to bring you Dark Justice. They will be donating their time, talent, and knowledge to coordinate one of the first events of this kind.
