Bio
Neonblunt is an alternative rock band from southern Manitoba. Their musical genre has often been classified as an exciting combination of rock, funk and rock-a-billy punk. The band formed in 2008 in Brandon, Manitoba as Jen and the Superfriends; the name Neonblunt was adopted later. Neonblunt posses the power to develop high energy rock music that keeps crowds entertained provokes anyone to dance.
The group is comprised of front woman/bassist Jennifer Lee Swistun, drummer/back-up vocals Bernie Wolski and guitarist/back-up vocals Justin Alcock. Those who have heard any of Neonblunt's songs are familiar with Jennifer's unique vocals. Jennifer Swistun is the songwriter and lead singer for the band, and it is her strange voice, passion, and bass chops that make her so loved. Jennifer has been writing music since she was 12 years old and released an independent solo album titled, "The Road", in 2004. Seasoned drummer Bernie Wolski, Justin Alcock: Neonblunts basic rock trio (guitar/bass/drums) sound is augmented on their later studio recordings. They pride themselves in having a true raw vibe. Neonblunt records live off the floor to keep their music from sounding "to canned" and please audiences while they do it. Songwriter Swistun is a story teller at heart. Her songs are uniquely structured and catch your attention.
Neonblunt is perhaps best known for their lyrics, however, which feature vivid imagery and inventive wordplay.
