“Hailing from Dalkeith, soulful singer-songwriter Neil Watson has been curiously absent from the stages of Edinburgh's music scene over the last year. However, having recently worked on new material, he is ready to reclaim his spot as one of Edinburgh's premier solo talents with his emotional brand of acoustic music.”
“This new OneSongGig is brought to us by Neil Watson. He performs his track “Arran” just next to Arthur Seat in Edinburgh. Great Musician and for more info on Neil and his work keep reading...”
“'Candlelit Wood' - Neil Watson (9/10) Very original! Such a cool intro- the guitar, the lyric… lovely. I enjoyed the structure and style of the song. Creative, unique and poetic. It fits the mood so well. It's a very nice, simple melody… this is understated and well done. Great work. Beautiful lyrics. Very well painted and composed in a wonderful way.”
“‘Arran’ – Neil Watson (7.9/10) "‘Arran’ is a nice song, not unique in topic or melody, but a nice comment on home and what it means to him... While his rhymes are inconsistent, I think he did a good job of showing the passage of time and events while keeping true to the lyric and feel of the song. Nice job on that! I like the emotion he sings with, and his delivery is sincere. The phrasing was good, and I know his ear picked up what rhymes it could, as he subtly brings out the rhymes in the delivery. I can hear that Neil has music in his soul. He writes a sincere lyric, and the melody of ‘Arran’ really shows the gentle pride of "home." Janet Fisher”
“In addition to the title track it features the songs Questions, a live version of Recompense and the crowd pleasing Alone – as one reviewer described as “a song of extra-denominational love pulling apart other relationships. Romeo and Juliet, basically.””
