Necro, AWOL ONE - + many more. This event is 18 and over NecroWebsiteMySpaceFacebookTwitterLinksNecro is an American rapper, entrepreneur, filmmaker, and record producer from Brooklyn, New York. He is the owner of Psycho+Logical-Records founded November, 1999. He is the brother of fellow rapper Ill Bill. Necro was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in the Glenwood Housing Projects, where he lived for eight years from about 6 years old to age 14, when he moved to Canarsie. Born into a Jewish family, he is the son of two Israeli expatriates with ancestry from Israel and Romania. Necro's father was a Romanian born Israeli soldier and his mother an Orthodox baalat teshuva. He began his musical career at 11, playing guitar in a death/thrash band named Injustice. But in due time, he made a transition from heavy metal to hip hop.[7] In 1988, he started rapping after being influenced by his older brother, rapper Ill Bill. Necro derived his stage-name from the Slayer song "Necrophobic". Before that he called himself "Mad Mooney", which was a character from a Clive Barker book. He made his first demo in about 1990 and won a demo battle contest on the Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito show on WKCR-FM. In about 1993 Necro started rapping full-time and made a demo called "Do The Charles Manson". In 1995 he proceeded to rap on the Wildman Steve and DJ Riz show WBAU 90.3FM. Necro invented the term "death rap" to describe his style of ultraviolent hip hop and to set himself apart from other genre labels created by the media. This subgenre of rap combines death metal beats with explicit raps about violence, death, the occult, drugs, bestiality, and sex. Awol One (Shapeshifters)WebsiteFacebookTwitterLinksCalifornia artist Awol One is rumored to be over one thousand years old and every single one of those years can be heard within the cracks of his voice and lyrics. One may call him a crude poet, a drunken rambler or a melodic voice for slackers but nobody can deny that he's maintained an uncompromising level of intelligence, honesty, melody, dark humor and originality. Touring the planet as a solo act and a member of The Shape Shifters , Awol has collaborated with Xzibit , B Real of Cypress Hill ,Aesop Rock, KRS-One, Buck 65, Atmosphere and members of Dilated Peoples, and 3OH!3 to name a few. He has also opened up for Emenem, Atmosphere ,Sublime, Common,Barrington Levi and many more. Journalists didn't quite know what to make of his strange alternative indie hip hop, Spin magazine tried to pin him down as one of the premiere voices of emo-rap, while Vice Magazine, URB and LA Weekly were singing the praises of his anthems. His 2001 collaboration with Daddy Kev, "Souldoubt", quickly became seen as a L.A. underground hip hop world wide classic and since, Awolrus hasn't slowed down a bit.
