Q: When did you first realize music is what you were born to do and how old were you?
A: Matthew, what a good question, I have never thought about this. I've always been really drawn into the 'world' created by a performance or piece of music. It is where I feel most 'human'. I think that to be human is to be a musician - and it is a real shame that I.) the role of the musician is not valued in many different scopes, particularly financially, 2.) there are not enough opportunities for music making. I wish we had a policy like Venezuela wher there are free music lessons for all under eighteens, then many more would feel the rich joy that comes from music making. I believe this is a right, not a privilege.
