Q: A two part question in one. How do you create your music physically (what equipment and instruments do you use)? How do you create your music psychologically (What happens in your head)?
A: I usually write with a piano or guitar and just play around from there in my DAW of choice; logic. I find Cubase too 'clunky' I'm a great believer in not censoring my ideas - I will write a line or phrase that pops into my head or I will try and write down my experience of a dream. I use 'placeholder' lyrics - rather than getting hung up on if I cannot find an exact lyric I want I put in lyrics that I am not quite happy with and move onto the next section. I then leave the song idea for a while before going back and seeing if any relevant words pops into my head. Hope this answers your question.
