http://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/469131?utm_medium=bks Lead guitarist of the Beatles from 1960 to 1970, George Harrison is one of the most influential guitarists of the British Invasion era; his solos were lyrical and his songs beautifully introspective. He was named the 11th greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone in 2011 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, once as a member of the Fab Four in 1988 and as a solo artist in 2004. This tribute concert will feature a selection of performers from the greater Washington, DC area including vocal powerhouse and one-woman band Margot MacDonald, eccentric master guitarist, mandolinist, and harp player Mike Clem, and Beach Boys cover artist Cal Everett. Other performers include folk/pop group Naked Blue, who has been described as “flawless, lilting, [and] soulful” (Pop Culture Press), Nate Ihara, a bassist/songwriter who’s toured with everyone from Outkast to Maroon 5, and singer/songwriter Todd Wright, who first rose to fame with his band GetawayCar. More artists will be joining them in this spectacular tribute. “It was this music more than any other that made millions of Americans fall in love with rock ’n’ roll forever.”—Ronnie Newmyer, founder of BandHouse Gigs BandHouse Gigs is a Bethesda-based nonprofit that produces original tribute concerts for legendary artists including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Stevie Wonder. Last spring they hosted a riveting homage to The Pretenders at The Barns at Wolf Trap.
