Bio
Myth of Delusion was created by two brothers in a friends dark, dirty garage in the Winter of 2005. Danny Pearson on Drums and Tyler Gorman on Guitar. It started off as a place to just practice and jam. Some of the jams got really cool as we started to get a feel for eachother. Jam time soon turned into song writing time. "Beyond Slaughter" was the first piece we wrote. Friends seemed to really like it and encouraged us to write more. So we started writing songs as a hobby over the weekend instead of just jamming for fun. We wrote about a song a month, for the first three months and 3 more the following 2 months. Then suddenly we stopped playing completely.
Many months later, Tyler had decided to do music for his senior project. So we got back together and started running through the old songs. A week later we were told that somebody wanted to record our material to support students pursueing music. So we did a quick rehearsal and went through our songs. The following day we went to the studio to check it out. Next thing you know we are recording all six songs right there on the spot. It was pretty crazy.
Afterwards, we discussed our situation and decided to give the band thing a shot, recruit some other musicians and do a couple of shows. So we opened up the myspace, then the reverbnation page threw our newly recorded songs up and now here we are in search of a talented singer and a second guitarist.
We are along the lines of metal. We don't want to do deathmetal, grindcore, or anything like that. There is enough of these types of genres out there. We want to stick more to a modern groovemetal, aggresive thrash type of sound. We are influenced by all types of metal. We feel the key is brutality, energy, and exciting time changes and multiple parts. Opposed to your typical wash, rinse and repeat, radio music. There has to be a hook. There has to be aggresive pit parts, headbanging breakdowns, and unsuspecting changes in the music. We want people to remember our music. You should want to jump around, bang your head and punch somebody in the face all in one song. All these things are important to us. We feel that almost any band can sound brutal or play fast, but many bands forget the importance of groove and complex song structure. We put alot of work into making our songs great. We don't ever really come in and just pump out songs like a factory.
Since the acquisition of our new bass player, our songs have taken on a whole new dimension. You will find that our bass player is not your typical metal bassist and really helps to add the uniqueness and originality you'd expect from Myth of Delusion. We are still in search for the right vocalist. This has been an on going problem. Being from a small town and having few to choose from. We have decided to go play shows locally anyway and maybe that will help us in locking down the perfect vocalist. We are still looking for a second guitarist to join us as well. This will help to achieve that sound that only two guitarists could bring.
About
Currently we are having professional artwork made. Getting band pictures done. Danny has started writing lyrics for our songs. The myspace is about to be completly overhauled and professionally done. And we are STILL looking for the right singer and second guitarist, all while writing new music and getting ready to go back into the studio. We currently have nine songs written and plan to right three more.
