My Escapade is what happens when four boys grow up in the wilderness and remote confines of forest-laden Tasmania, experimenting with instruments on a staple diet of alternative rock. It is the evolution of an energetic and creative band of young fellows, who have come together in the form of a contemporary indie rock quartet, not ashamed to draw inspiration from early Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, through to more contemporary sounds evocative of Coldplay and Muse. The result is a musical fusion of tribal beats, driven by pulsing drum and bass grooves, carried with melodic guitar, hypnotic keys and synth, and fronted with soaring vocal arrangements, sublime falsetto and insightful lyrics.

The four-piece consists of guitarist/vocalist Jason Lucas, bassist Chris van Tholen, drummer Simon Lucas and keyboardist Alan Forrest. All in their early 20’s the boys are working hard on their debut EP, produced by ARIA nominated Sydney-based recording engineer/producer Greg Stace, which is scheduled for local release in mid December, and anticipated for national release in the new year. Local shows and a national east coast tour are planned to promote the release of the self-titled EP starting in early March.

The band maintains a heavy rehearsal schedule, coupled with consistent gigging around Australia’s most southern state. My Escapade has created their own musical niche by touring events for under-age fans in rural and remote areas. They have also shared the stage with noteworthy acts, including Jimmy Barnes, Diesel and Little Red, as well as giving impressive live performances at Make Poverty History, Mella Rock and Breath of Life festival.
