Bio
Started in 2004 by college chums Chubby Lipsi (Guitar), his cousin, the micro phonic sinister ringleader, Jesse Nelson, and the vet, Scott "Mando" Mandolini (Bass), MUVUCA started out playing a diverse set which included classic Rock covers, Bob Marley, Chili Peppers and whatever moved the folks. The band was however looking to create that heavy 70's, funky feel good, nasty to the chill, get off your ass and rip, not just cut a rug groove that leaves um' swaying' and feeling alright with the large teethy smile at the end of the night sound.
About
It quickly became an extended family affair, with the addition of Chubby's sweet soul singin' sister Jessica, who would take the vocals into the stratosphere. Now MUVUCA was poised to evolve into the aforementioned contender. Enter drummer and all around good guy from the village, Jon Cox to the mix. With his funk style and phat timekeeping he was the perfect fit for the bottom, along with Acid Jazzer Mando on Bass. And just when you figured it couldn't get anymore enticing, OH YEAH! Here comes the greasy and diabolical horn lines of Kyle Wright to effectively solidify the band and the sound and the rest is, as they say, history!
