About
MUST LOVE TRASH (MLT) is a Washington, DC-based rock band made up of four full-time members: Adam Rosenberg (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Matt Scharf (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), Michael Strauss (Bass/Vocals) and Chetan Rao (Drums). The band was formed in March 2007 and has gained buzz in DC with their unique sound described as a blend between alternative garage-rock and jam band drawing influences from Talking Heads, Phish, Neil Young, Blind Melon and Grand Funk Railroad. MLT has gained notoriety with their energetic live performances and showmanship, priding themselves on never playing songs the same way at each show. Their “anything goes” attitude during live performances where their catchy originals get audiences moving has led to the band being described as “loud and local party rockers” by a local music publication.
With so much effort put into producing a solid live performance, it's no surprise that MLT has consistently filled local venues to capacity in only a short time together. The band has been known to enlist the supporting help of additional local musicians at live performances without warning. Ryan Fogarty (keyboards), Gabe Garcia (percussion), Carl “C-Rat” Easton (freestyle vocals) and Randy Rosenberg (alto flute) have all performed live with MLT.
