WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR CHECKING OUT MY MUSIC!

I'd like to take a moment to give you a little history behind the music.

My name is Chris and I live in Richmond, VA.  I am married with two kids and make a living doing the whole retail management thing.

I LOVE music. I consider it more of a passion than a hobby.  I started off in the 6th grade playing the trombone and can still carry a decent tune on the bone to this day.  About 8 years ago, I fell in love with the guitar and industrial/electronic music. I started messing around with recording about 7 years ago and have been steadily perfecting my style and capabilities ever since.

I'm proud of the fact that everything you hear is me. The lyrics, the guitar, the synth, the programming, everything. There is a freedom in the one man band thing that few people appreciate. There are no fights with fellow bandmates. No conflicts with how a song will sound. Whatever comes to my head, I do. I enjoy that freedom.

My personal hero would have to be Trent Reznor(Nine Inch Nails). If my budget and studio were even half of what his is, there's no telling what I could accomplish.  All the skill in the world will never make up for not having the right gear.

Lastly, I get a lot of questions about the name M-U-R-G-E-D.  It's a pretty simple concept that describes my music.  When you take a trombone player who played jazz and concert music, throw in some guitar, throw in some keyboard/synth, and add a dash of industrial/electronic influence, you get a sound that is probably nothing like you've ever heard before.  It's all "murged" together.

After much feedback, I feel it necessary to add the following bit of advice to fans/listeners on behalf of every artist on Reverb Nation:

Please know that you are not going to get an earth shattering sound out of that two inch speaker in your laptop. If desktop monitor speakers are not practical for you, try running a line from your headphone jack on your computer to the line-imput on a component stereo system. If all that seems costly or complicated, just download the songs and burn to Cd. You'll get a much more enjoyable listening experience on a car or home stereo system. The sounds will be richer and more exspansive than any computer speaker can offer.

It's not about money. It's not about fame. It's all about the music. All I ever want is for people to like my music and appreciate the effort that goes into it.
