    Annual Haiku Slam Championship! Poems are limited not by time, but by length, with 17 syllables being the maximum. These are head to head matches and poets may need up to 30 haiku or more to go the distance. Audience participation is encouraged! Come JUDGE, WATCH, or COMPETE! What is Slam Poetry? A poetry slam is the competitive art of performance poetry. It puts a dual emphasis on writing and performance, encouraging poets to focus on what they’re saying and how they’re saying it.
