Vocalist/songwriter/bassist Monique Ortiz is known as the front woman of the Boston trio A.K.A.C.O.D. (a collaboration with Morphine saxophonist Dana Colley and Binary System drummer Larry Dersch).
A fine art graduate of Pennsylvania College Of Art as well as a vocalist and multiinstrumentalist since childhood, Monique Ortiz has developed her own sound, heavily influenced by Morphine's "Low Rock" (a term coined by Morphine front man Mark Sandman, used to describe a minimal and spacious rock ...
