Metal has always been the main focus of the festival and in an effort to expand the exposure of Hawaii's Metal bands to the different music communities on the island, the festival expanded with the addition of “indie” and "punk" stages. Over the years a national metal band has been included to headline the Main Stage lineup, which features only Metal & hardcore bands. With three stages in constant motion, Metalfest attendees will be treated to a full 8 hours of continuous & varying entertainment while still focusing on the mainstay of metal.
