Mitchel Jon was born in North Dakota. An unlikely place for
such a soulful singer to come from. He picked up a guitar and started singing when he was about five. He recalls growing up listening to Nat King Cole, Jim Reeves and Marty Robbins as well as the great orchestra sounds of Percy Faith and productions like Dr. Zhivago. He would try to imitate the singers, dreaming of someday following in their footsteps.
