Bio: Mirk! They got a new fresh sound, with a certain sense of familiarity... Like when you pop in the CD no matter where you are you're home, you know? It's an exciting time for music. So saturated with BS, the pop scene is moving underground again. As was Detroit in the 50's and 60's, and as Seattle... See Full Bio

Wild Adriatic + Titanics + Party Boat + Mirk + Continuums + Stellar Young Wild Adriatic - (Set time: 12:00 AM)10 out of 10 Dads approve of this rock and roll band. Heavy soul and lots of groove. Coming to a town near you soon, leaving no stages un-thrashed. New record "Big Suspicious" available now on CD, vinyl, and at all digital retailers. http://wildadriatic.bigcartel.com/ Titanics - (Set time: 11:00 PM)"Despite the resurgence of synthesizer-based bands in recent years, Albany has largely missed the blissed-out genre 'chillwave' altogether. Which is ironic, given that what many New York City progenitors of the sound are attempting to romanticize looks a lot like our upstate summers. Its not surprising, then, that an Albany band TITANICS would eventually come along and craft one of the genres great records... Lombardos vocals are verbed-out to gauzy effect and when Rogers guitar enters, its like a heaven-beam splitting the clouds." - Metroland "The interchange between his vocal offerings and Rogers' glassy guitar creates that perfect vibe." -Earmilk "an otherworldly sound to just drift away with." -Stereofox "...crisp drums, warm synths, and big guitar riffs to great effect." - Indie Shuffle Party Boat - (Set time: 10:00 PM)SURF POP /// SARATOGA SPRINGS NY Mirk - (Set time: 9:00 PM)Mirk, (formerly "Mirk & the New Familiars") is an American musical group from Albany, New York, founded in 2009 whose music has been characterized as a cross between the genres of pop, soul, rock, R&B, and hip-hop. Besides writing and performing their own music, Mirk has also been credited with producing music for Jay-Z, Petey Pablo, Eamon, Ciara, and Young Jeezy, among others; several have been certified "Platinum" and "Gold" by the RIAA. "Love", their debut album was all written, recorded, mixed and originally performed by lead vocalist and producer, Joshua "Mirk" Mirksy. After several solo performances, he assembled a live band to recreate the album's unique sound. The album's single, "Forbidden" received high praise from critics and was well received by fans. A subsequent music video was filmed later that year in New York City which features a cameo by Grammy award winning R&B singer Maxwell. After a sold out full-band debut show on February 13, 2009, a follow up EP titled "Broke" was released a few months later. Mirk gained national attention in late 2009 after Rolling Stone, MTV and other press outlets reported on a track produced for Jay-Z featuring Regina Spektor. The track, "Crispy Benjimans" was purchased by Jay-Z and RocNation that fall and despite starting quite a buzz online, never was released publicly. After two years of playing shows across the northeast in support of "Love", the band made it back into the studio to begin work on their sophomore album. On September 28th, 2011 they officially announced their sophomore album titled "Grind" would be pre-released on December 2nd, 2011 to select fans. At the "fan-exclusive" album release show, the first 500 fans were given a free copy of the new album months before its official release. "Grind" was officially released to the public in the Spring of 2012 on iTunes and on bandcamp, where fans can name their own price. "Grind" was the band's first studio album which featured songs performed and written by all members of the band and, like "Love", was self-produced and recorded in the band's private studio. "Away", the album's first single, also featured the band's second music video thanks to a successfully backed Kickstarter campaign. Only weeks later, the band announced the follow-up single, "Beautiful Music", which too received a music video and features Grammy Award winning rapper Mr. Cheeks of the Lost Boyz. In March 2012, Mirk went on their first national tour in support of "Grind". The tour started in their hometown of Albany, NY and went though New York City, Atlanta, New Orleans and others, ultimately leading up to their stop at the 2012 SXSW festival in Austin, TX. After a busy 2013, the band has returned to the studio to continue writing new music in 2014. They announced their third studio album, "Run", which will be released in two parts in the spring of 2014. They also continue their heavy live-performance schedule, playing between 50-75+ shows a year across the country. Continuums - (Set time: 8:00 PM) Stellar Young - (Set time: 7:00 PM)Stellar Young is based out of Albany, NY. Originally from the Hudson Valley area, these five guysironically, all with four-letter names have already shared the stage with the likes of We The Kings, Bret Michaels, San Cisco, The Features, Civil Twilight, Weerd Science, and The Front Bottoms. Property of Zack called Stellar Young engaging enough to garner mainstream indie rock fans attention and intricate enough to please music snobs. Curt Mulick became a drummer after a telltale twist of fate, when his first 4th grade clarinet test resulted in being handed a pair of sticks and a practice pad. Its okay, thoughthe only reason he wanted to play the clarinet in the first place is because a cute girl was playing it too. A few years later he met guitarist John Glenn (not the astronaut), who doubles as the bands vocalist. Originally from Austin, Texas, his roots gave him a well-rounded background of film, theater and music. Along the way the two guys crossed paths with another great guitar/vocalist, Erik Flora, whoearly onhad a similar musical fate as Curt. He was dying to be a saxophone player, but the instructor insisted his hands were too small and handed him a trumpet. Curt and John were already in a band with a bassist, but the triad joined forced with Erik in 2004 to form the band. After their bassist left the band for a career in law enforcement, Curt asked his friend Kyle Hatch to fill the newly vacant spot. Kyle tried many different instruments from an early age: from piano, to trombone, to guitar. Along the way, he found he had a real knack for improvisation. The final piece to the puzzle was found with Dave Parker, who happened to catch an acoustic set by John, Erik and Kyle when he was new to Albany. Dave was able to take over the bass position full time, allowing an easy transition for Kyle to switch to guitar and John to focus on vocals. Daves touring experience with bands such as Coheed & Cambria and producing/performance credits with Weerd Science have since brought such a wealth of knowledge and insight to the group. Albany is no stranger to Stellar Young, naming them Best New Band and Best Indie Rock Band in the Metroland 2012, 2013, and 2014 Best of and Readers Poll editions. The guys have secured regular rotation at many local stations (WEXT, WEQX, and WRPI) as well as other stations around the Northeast (WONY, WSUB-LP, and WFNP). Around the city, they have played 50+ shows and acoustic performances and have made strong connections with the local promoters. The band is currently expanding into the greater northeast in areas such as NYC, Montreal, the Hudson Valley, Oneonta, and Plattsburgh. Between writing/recording a full length for 2014, releasing Everything at Once, successfully raising funds on Kickstarter for a mini shuttle bus, and touring; Stellar Young are hardworking DIYers that will continue to grow.
