Formed in 2006 the Harrisonburg, VA based group fuses elements of alt-country, folk and indie rock to produce a sound noted for its use of traditional instruments in an unconventional manner.

In February 2008, Mild Winter released their first full length "A Wanderer's Home." During the fall of the same year, the group moved quickly into production of their second album, "Postcards and Letters", self released on vinyl and CD.
