Mikki Bakken grew up in a little town in upstate NY, where the farm animals out- numbered the residents. Early on,Mikki decided singing and playing guitar was an easier way to make a living.

She moved to the big city and shortly thereafter began working with Lisa Smith. Together they wriote songs and toured extensively in North America.
