Will Dockery & The Shadowville All-Stars / World AIDS Day 2014 "I felt a door opening in me and I entered the clarity of early morning. One after another my former lives were departing, like ships, together with their sorrow." -Czeslaw Milosz *** World AIDS Day Concert at SoHo Bar & Grill November 29th *** "Would you come to me If I was half drowning, an arm above the last wave. Would you come to me, would you pull me up?" -Lou Reed "The United States has performed the greatest act of heroism since it jumped into World War Two... millions of people owe their lives to U.S. aid that has made life-saving medicine available to people with HIV. More than six-and-a-half million people in Africa are now getting HIV and AIDS treatment thanks to medical aid from the U.S. and other countries" -Bono, in the New York Times World AIDS Day Concert with The Shadowville All-Stars SoHo Bar & Grill 5751 Milgen Road, Columbus GA. 9pm - Closing Come join myself, host Jeremy Hobbs and the Shadowville All-Stars (Jack Snipe, Rob Wright, Brian Mallard, Gary Frankfurth, Eric M. Gunter & Mike Matthews with special music & poetry guests) at SoHo Bar & Grill at 5751 Milgen Road, Saturday November 29th 2014 for the local version of the World AIDS Day Concert. Fun, merryment and music on the Legendary SoHo stage as we raise funds to help us cure this disease (that can hit anyone, gone are the days when folks sneered that it was only a "gay" illness) which Bono and others feel it's possible to have an AIDS-free generation by 2016 since a decade-long push to fight the global epidemic of HIV and AIDS means a new goal is in sight. Let us make it so! Show starts at 9:00 pm with set-up around 7:00 pm with some programs and educational discussions hosted by Jeremy Hobbs, myself and others, as well as the entire Shadowville Circus of friends and artists doing their bit. We will busk on the sidewalk, weather permitting, or if the cold winds blow, as November 2nd as I type this is any indication it could be a long chilly season coming, indoors at the coffee shop, where the best in soul warming adult beveridges and other great stuff are available form the friendly bartenders of Old SoHo. This is a free concert by The Shadowville All-Stars and Friends for the people, all people, and of course donations for Chattahoochee Valley Better Way and their work in raising awareness and research into the cure of AIDS will be gratefully accepted.
