The critics can’t get enough of Mike Dubose and The Dissidents. Legendary singer-songwriter James McMurty calls Dubose a “fierce performer and fearless man.” KLBJ/KGSR DJ Loris Lowe has compared the group’s work to Neil Young and Crazy Horse, with good reason.
Mike Dubose and the Dissidents were formed in Austin, Texas in 2006. Currently, The Dissidents are comprised of songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Dubose, drummer Jimmy James Klein, guitarist Geoff DeMuth and bassist Bill Teags.

His influences during his teens ranged from Guns N Roses, The Sex Pistols, The Beatles, Metallica and Nirvana to Johnny Cash and Townes Van Zandt. He formed Missing Ingredient in 1996. The band opened up for such acts as Son Volt, Elliott Smith, Wilco and Yo La Tengo. Missing Ingredient released the CD "Consolation Prize" in 1999. It garnered positive reviews, decent radio play and sales.

Geoff DeMuth grew up in the Chicago area and became enraptured with rock-n-roll at an early age. A guitar came into his life at the age of ten and the die was cast, he had a sixth appendage. Throughout the high school years, Geoff worked in bands playing rock, country and blues, soaking up the influences of his favorite artists and honing his skills. He cut his teeth playing in jazz organ trios at clubs in and around Chicago. Geoff spent several years playing with the I- Lites, a popular group with Reggae and West African influences. Prior to moving to the Austin area, Geoff was the pedal steel player for Slim Pickins, a traditional honky tonk outfit.
