As many of you may know, Tony Starlight moved out of his space on Sandy Blvd. We had been performing at Tony's club since it opened in 2007....it was our home away from home (the pic above is from those early days). Well good news.....Tony's former bartender Matt Mazza has reopened the club and is continuing the same dinner and a show format. We are excited to once again be on that stage. We've had some amazing times in that room, and we hope you'll join us as we inaugurate the new business. Come out and spend some time with the Midnight Serenaders, and check out Matt Mazza's new club. You can make your reservations now at 503.719.7980. Live music from 8 to 10:30 pm.
This is an free, all ages at the Wilsonville Public Libary for their monthly concert series. It is a rare opportunity to see and hear the Midnight Serenaders in an intimate setting. Music is from 2 to 4 pm.
Come revel in Halloween hijinx, with Portland’s quintessential old-timey swing sextet, THE MIDNIGHT SERENADERS, and help continue the tradition of their Halloween Bash at The Secret Society for the fifth consecutive year. Bygone era dreamers, swing dancers, and vintage melody junkies alike can expect the biggest Hot Jazz costume soirée the group has thrown yet! Opening the show will be a special appearance by Seattle's boogie-woogie swing king, Casey MacGill and band, plus performances by all-female 1920’s/1930’s jazz dance troupe, The Portland Rhythm Shakers. Then continue to shake your own funky thing to the Midnight Serenaders as they play through their ever-expanding repertoire of vintage swing, hot jazz, and Prohibition era-sounding originals. Special seasonal libations will be at the ready, including a scrumptious selection of cocktails, beer, wine, and food. Costumes are encouraged, but not necessary. Attendees, beware: prepare for a night of misbehaving and swing fever. In years past, the event has been wildly popular – advance ticket purchase highly recommended. $15 advance, $18 door. Get tickets at ticketfly.com. $20 ALL NIGHT PASS (6PM – 1AM) Guests are also invited to come by for a special early Happy Hour jazz show with Emily Asher’s Garden Party, and stick around all night long. Purchase an All Night Pass for discounted entry to both shows at secretsociety.net.
Yes folks, we were heartbroken last spring when we learned that one of our favorite venues was closing down, with no definite plans to reopen. Well, they're now in a fine, new location with great seating, a dance floor, an improved menu, and continued friendly service. Join the Midnight Serenaders on Friday, October 3 as we break in the new space and once again bring the Serenaders swing machine to Duff's Garage. Music begins at 9 pm.
The final night of the Portland Film Fest features three amazing Portland swing bands beginning at 4:30 with Jacob Miller and the Bridge City Crooners, followed by the Jenny Finn Orchestra at 5:30, and the Midnight Serenaders from 6:30 to 7:30. The evening finishes off with a showing of filmmaker Ryan Murdock’s debut feature film Bronx Obama. The event is free and all ages.

Bio: Proving that hot jazz and vintage pop of the 1920’s and 30’s is as relevant as ever in the present day, the Midnight Serenaders provide an infectious and irreverent take on the raucous and carefree music of “The Jazz Age.” Far from a simple repertory band, they infuse their repertoire with a gen...See Full Bio

“The Midnight Serenaders...recreation of Jazz Age swing is so convincing that it’s often difficult to differentiate between old standards and the band’s original tunes. Ukelele-strumming songbird Dee Settlemier and co-vocalist Doug Sammons perfectly communicate the coy innocence of a bygone era, while their bandmates offer a sprightly musical backdrop.”
