The show will also include the premiere for their latest music video, "Whipcracker." With an ear for contemporary Euro pop-rock, and a “pop latino” bravado, Di Bari stimulates audiences from a wide spectrum of backgrounds, performing original pop-rock in English, Spanish and Italian. Di Bari’s frontman is Michael Barimo, who has performed as a musical guest on The Late Show with David Letterman, and mentored by Italian pop star Andrea Bocelli. Michael has given solo performances in venues that run the gamut from Carnegie Hall to The Knitting Factory, and performed across the country as well as in Italy and Japan. Di Bari was named as a slightly tongue-in-cheek homage to the Italian singer Nicola di Bari, influenced by Nicola’s inimitable retro vibe and penchant for polyglot albums. Di Bari has just returned from a fall tour out west, hitting venues in Las Vegas, Reno and California. Their music uniquely incorporates 70’s rock excess with 21st century electronica - coupled with Michael’s distinctive virtuosic whistling. It’s an over-the-top Ricky Martin-style treatment with a musical sophistication and specific cultural references that could only come out of New York City. Di Bari’s members come from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens, and each bring their own backgrounds and musical influences to the mix: Roman Molino Dunn, producer and multi-instrumentalist leads the band on bass guitar, Ari Friedman friskily plays lead guitar, and is joined by Orion Simprini from The Orion Experience. Miles Spillane, a slightly out of control drummer keeps everyone counting, Giuseppe Mentuccia tickles the electronic ivories and the fresh Di Bari backup dancers keep the crowd on their toes.
