“In his song “Sidelines,” Seal Beach hip-hop artist MC IMPRINT raps “Get me on the field, and I’ma shine like a diamond.” Well, he’s finally getting his chance, and he’s not wasting it. A little over four years ago Brett Guidry was a drug addict, in jail, facing a 6-year prison sentence and had a choice to make—prison and drugs or music and positivity. That’s when he made the decision to turn his life around and pursue music full time. Since then, he has been on the grind making music, and its all starting to come together for the MC.”
“I can’t remember the last time my younger brother cried. He’s always been the toughest kid I knew. Hell, I can remember when i realized that my baby brother could beat me up. Kind of sad, I know. But I heard him cry today. My bro Brett Guidry AKA MC IMPRINT has been through a lot, starting at a young age. He got into drugs, went to jail, stole cars, robbed…you name it, he did it. But the last time he got out the pin, over 4 years ago, I saw something different in him. He had this look in his eye that was like, “I’m never going back there”. He was always a talented hip hop artist but 4 years ago was the start of his mission. The change that he’s made in himself, brings tears to my eyes. Anyways…for the past 4 years, he’s had his nose to the grind stone. His producer The Optimist would give him a beat and IMPRINT would destroy it. So when my bro won the WHO’S NEXT contest on POWER 106, I wasn’t surprised at all. No more waiting on the Sidelines, this dude is going t”

“Nailing the Beat100 top spot was USA citizen & Beat100 débutante MC Imprint. Coming from Seal Beach, California, MC Imprint tells Beat100 what the upload finishing at first place in the chart named ‘Dancing in the Shadows’ is about; “This song is a story about my father passing away from a drug addiction & in turn I almost lost my life to the same addiction, but I chose music to change my life around.” – MC Imprint, California Real name Brett Guidry, Imprint was raised in Seal Beach, California. After MC Imprints father passed away, the MC found solace on the streets and became hooked on drugs at a very early age. Progressing worse and worse, Imprint began chasing this illustrious lifestyle as a way to buffer personal issues and eventually ended up in custody fighting a six year bid in prison. Through these moments, Imprint realized a change needed to happen. ”
“Having introduced his album almost 1 year ago MC Imprint has been on his grind to formally inject himself into the veins of the rap game with his Freshman LP The First Impression. This project provides a narration of his experiences through the depths of depression and is most visibly exposed on the tracks “Dancing in the Shadows” and “Ain’t No Sunshine.” He is able to balance braggadocio and girl problems while shining a discerning light on the seriousness of substance abuse. Rather than relapsing, Imprint has conjured up a cocktail of self reflection and positive progression. His internal battles are externalized through lyrical confessions.”
“Six months ago a friend sent me an email asking to check out her cousin's new music video. I thought it was well done with nice lyrics so I posted it on this blog tryin' to help spread the word. Since than I've gotten many hits on that video with positive feedback. Today I'd like to share with you MC Imprints new music video "Sidelines". A Seal Beach resident (MC IMPRINT) dedicating this song to those you lost their lives in the tragic Salon Meritage event on Oct. 12, 2011.”
“Brett Guidry aka Imprint shares the life turnaround story that drives his music on Conversation Crossroad’s INDIEvening Monday, October 24th, 7pm EST”
“Street Radio Mag: What inspired you to write the song “I Got You”? MC Imprint: So the song “I Got You,” was inspired by my trip to the ATL. Some opportunities arose and there was a chance that it would further my music career in music so I dropped everything and ventured to Atlanta! I used the situation with my mother because she has always stuck by my side through thick and thin! My mother has done so much for me, being that she raised my older brother and I by herself since we were the age of 4 and 5! Going to Atlanta meant leaving her back in Cali by herself until I made something happen. I wanted to let her know that I was doing this for us, because WHEN I make it, life will be better for her! I don’t want my mother to have to work anymore because she’s worked so hard her whole life, with no breaks! She did everything she could to try and make a better life for my brother and I, now I want to give her a better life!”

"Exclusive Interview Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today. I am from the WEST COAST, Southern Cali! From a little city called Seal Beach. To be completely honest, what led me to become a rapper, was my extreme addiction to drugs! Well, what I mean is, growing up i had always been in love with hip-hop, so with the Lords help, I used the music as an outlet to overcome my addiction! (Currently 3 yr’s and 4 months clean and sober from alcohol and drugs! Sobriety date: March 18th 2008)...."
“MC Imprint (Brett Guidry), a member of Mash Down Babylon community, has released his first album “The First Impression”. An independent hip-hop artist from Seal Beach, and he sounds exactly like how an indie hip-hop artist from Seal beach would sound like in your head. I got an email this morning from a friend saying check out my cousin’s video, let me know what you think. In response to her email, it made it on my page, so it’s gotta’ be good.”
“This emcee is very talented. I enjoyed his whole album. He’s out of Seal Beach, California and the album is titled The First Impression. Imprint sent us over a brand new exclusive. He it is, its called Dancing in the Shadows. Keep it locked! ”
"Keeping Up with My Brother… By CBG123 My brother Imprint tells his story… The First Impression An old friend by the name of Soomin Kim approached my brother about doing a lil video doc about himself. Sometimes you want to know the person behind the art and if the stories they tell are true. There is a lot of passion, blood, sweat and tears in my brothers music. It would be great if you could listen to his story. And please remember, you are never stuck…YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR THE BETTER!!!"
"What does an up and coming hip hop artist have to do with Independent Network Marketers? Find out for yourself and see if you can pick up on several parallels in this first video of the ‘My Platform’ Video Series. In order to find success in business, music, relationships or just life in general… once must face their past and take account of the errors and also in many ways, stand upon those obstacles as a platform of redemption and success. In my opinion, no one does it better than the rapper or hip hop artist. Time and time again we hear songs of trials, error, objections, obstacles, pain and ultimately overcoming it all. Although I am not a musician, I feel in many ways network marketing has given me the opportunity to overcome so many of life’s shortcomings of a broken family, economically challenged upbringing, etc. Listen as I sit with Brett Guidry AKA MC IMPRINT as he shares his story. Friends; music or business, the themes DO NOT change….. enjoy."

“LET'S SEE.. WHERE DO I START WITH THIS KID... I MET BRETT GUIDRY (AS EVERYONE IN SEAL BEACH KNOWS HIM) WHEN HE WAS 9 OR 10 YEARS OLD. HE WAS PROBABLY THE MOST HUMBLE 4TH GRADER YOU COULD EVER COME ACROSS. ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE, AND YOU'D MOST LIKELY RECEIVE 10 "THANK YOUS" FOR GIVING HIM A RIDE A FEW MILES DOWN THE COAST TO THE HUNTINGTON BEACH SKATE PARK. HE COULD ALWAYS BE FOUND AT ONE OF THREE PLACES WITH HIS OLDER BROTHER BRANDON. THE BASEBALL FIELDS AT MC GAUGH ELEMENTARY, PLAYING A GAME OF S-K-A-T-E IN FRONT OF 711; SLURPEE IN HAND, OR AT THE MC DONALDS PARKING LOT...SKATEBOARDING........ ”

“ "One of our good friends, MC IMPRINT is getting ready to make your heads explode with his new album entitled “The First Impression” dropping next week 1/27/10. In case you have missed it, we have always been huge supporters of MC IMPRINT even way back since our 80s vs. 90s Jam when he opened for FATLIP, and so when we heard he was releasing an album we couldn’t wait to be a part of it. Plus another good friend of ours STAMP’D LA will be giving away some FREE SHOES that night.. trust us, this is one event that you DO NOT want to miss!!" ”
“The first rapper, Imprint, performed a solid mix of hot rhymes. Although Imprint looked tense for the first two songs, he settled into a rollicking hip-hop groove with songs such as “Magnified Development.” He rampaged through rhymes, spitting “I’m passing out free prescriptions/Every time they poppin’ a pill, they think im healin um/ I’m a really kill ‘um/Injecting venom in their temple to leave ‘em crippled.” By the time he reached the last song, “Check the Index,” he had the crowd of 30 to 40 people waving their hands in the air to his rhymes. ”
