"The last AVIMA awards ended spectacularly with some of the biggest indie names flexing their muscles and taking home the top prizes of the World’ s Biggest Independent Music Awards." "The AVIMA 2010 MUSIC AWARDS event was uniquely supported and created around major social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, ruumz.com, friendster.com, Youtube and Myspace. Instead of a single awards show, it was spread across 4 days between April 30-May 3rd, building hype, and injecting thrills, spills and suspense using the web to convey everything." "Recording/performing artist and former RTM television personality, Maureen Santiago, was a pioneer in the Malaysian music scene as one of the original RTM resident artists ever selected from the Bintang RTM talent search competition. She hosted televised music-themed programs, appeared as a guest artist on several others and was the first to make the transition to a program summary reader. She also sang for the King, toured with the RTM orchestra, performed at formal government functions and recorded numerous TV and radio jingles during her 10 years at RTM. In spite of this busy schedule, she still managed a demanding two-shows-a-night, six-nights-a-week live performance schedule for an incredible six year stretch! Her Malay album Perasaan had several popular songs including the top-five hit “Aku Sayang Kau Pun Sayang”."
