ENGLISH : Maty Soul is a Soul singer, songwriter and composer. Her main influences are Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill. She grew up listening to Miles Davis then Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and Donny Hathaway not to mention the Hip hop culture influence. Since finishing high school she has been singing regularly in different venues performing in front of a growing audience. By launching her myspace page and uploading her demo, she would soon see her songs played on radio stations. Maty Soul’s music deals with social and political realities and one song of her upcoming album is dedicated to Martin Luther King, Jr. Her album is a Soul album with Hip Hop and Reggae influences. She has been blessed to team up with musicians who played with Mary J Blige, Maxwell, D'Angelo, Q-Tip. The recording was done the vintage way, to properly capture a sound and warmth that have become rare. Jon Smeltz (Jill Scott, The Roots) and Grammy Award winner Russell Elevado mixed the whole album. The first single "Herbal tea", produced by That Natural High (Waking Bass and Maty Soul) with contribution from one of Erykah badu's producers is very representative of the album's sound.

FRANCAIS : Maty Soul est auteur, compositeur, interprète de Soul music en Anglais et en Français; ses influences vont de Bob Marley à Lauryn Hill. Dès son plus jeune âge, elle est bercée par Miles Davis puis découvre au fur et à mesure, tout en grandissant dans la culture Hip Hop, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone et Donny Hathaway. Après son Bac, elle décide de travailler sa musique et sa voix dans la meilleure école : la scène. Petit à petit elle se voit proposer de jouer dans des salles plus importantes et clôturera l’Enghien Jazz Festival. Maty Soul s’ouvre sur le Monde en créant sa page Myspace, puis avec une démo playlistée en radio. Sa musique est en prise avec la réalité sociale et politique. Dans son premier album, à paraître, elle a d'ailleurs écrit une chanson en hommage à Martin Luther King. Son album Soul aux influences Hip Hop et Reggae , sans concession, a été enregistré "à l'ancienne" avec des musiciens de talent ayant notamment accompagné Marie J Blige, Maxwell, D' Angelo, Q-Tip. Jusqu'au choix des ingénieurs, la priorité a été de retrouver cette chaleur et grosseur de son de plus en plus rare. Le mix a donc été confié à Jon Smeltz (Jill Scott, The Roots) et Russell Elevado (Grammy award winner). Le premier single "Herbal Tea", réalisé par l'équipe de production That Natural High (Walking Bass et Maty Soul) avec la participation d'un des producer d' Erykah Badu, est très représentatif de la sonorité de l'album.
