I was born in Eugene, Oregon. A year later my family moved to southeast Portland where I grew up.

Both of my parents are really creative people. My father was a woodworker who opened his own hardwoods business. When I was just a kid I would go there after school and help out. I have a lot of good memories of my dad telling me about woods and showing me how to use tools.
