My mother and sister are both fighting this disease. My mother was diagnosed over 30 years ago and my sister was recently diagnosed this past year. For anyone who has seen this disease first hand, you know all too well how incredibly heart-wrenching it is to watch a loved one fight such a brutal battle with every ounce of being that their weak and often feeble body can manage. My mother has fought it for most of her life and all of my own. I could go on for days about the amount of hospitalizations, doctor consultations, medications and countless hours that she has spent searching, looking for answers, a solution, some kind of relief from her daily struggles to simply survive. Aside from the usual aspects of growing up, I have spent my entire life wondering how much more time I might actually have with my mother. She has suffered through endless surgeries, 2 strokes and most recently a heart attack. (Talk about being strong-willed). I hate the thought of anyone else in the future having to suffer through this devastating disease. We need answers, WE NEED A CURE! Please help me in my efforts to fight through this with my family, and with any of your loved ones who may be fighting this brutal battle themselves. Lets Do This!
