Singer-songwriter, MATT BURNS is no ordinary artist. Although originally inspired by country traditionalists such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard, Matt has taken a modernist's approach and fuses a variety of other influences such as rock and blues into a musical stew that is completely unique, instantly familiar, and immediately recognizable.
Despite his forward-thinking attitude, MATT BURNS stays true to his country roots, singing songs about the important, but often-overlooked minutia of life. He weaves delicate musical tapestries that tell stories of life, love, and loss, and like a skilled photographer, paints a picture using words and melody with immaculate precision all in the context of a catchy song.
Originally from Cypress, Texas, Matt explains that he “always saw things a little different than most people, but didn't know how to express it.” After studying architecture and other mediums within the visual arts, he began playing guitar and writing songs. The rest, as they say, is history.
