Bio
After a self-imposed exile from music, Matt Burnett re-emerges, acoustic instruments in hand, picking up where the trail of many musical identities left off.
Not a folksinger, not a performance artist, not a Guitar Hero, not a singer/songwriter, Matt Burnett combines these elements into something he refers to as Energy Acoustic. "It's sort of like the whole 'Unplugged' thing with a fork left sticking in the wall socket", he explains. "I just don't have it in me, musically right now, to make a huge noise. But the energy in the music still needs to come out."
About
Imagine Isaac Asimov channeling the spirit of Eliott Smith. Occasionally with banjos.
Comparisons to Bruce Cockburn and Ani DiFranco have been made.
Somebody once said I sound like Neil Diamond. I don't get where that's coming from, but it sounded like a compliment when it was said, and that's okay by me.
