Q: Hi Marybeth, I am listening to "Der Grenzer." This is a very fine song about stark reality. What inspired you to write and record that song?
A: Hi Shane. Well I lived in Germany for quite a while and this song was inspired by German history, when East and West Germany were separated for 40 years by a wall. I took the point of view of the East German border guard who is watching the border. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for your interest!
