About
This Jamaican born and raised singer/songwriter is a product of Mona Prep Choir, Campion College Choir, and the University Singers, all of Kingston, Jamaica. Mario Evon is another bright upcoming Jamaican artiste adding his flavour to the music industry. Unassuming, but energetic, he produces a mix of many genres including R&B, jazz, reggae, dancehall, and combines them to form a unique style. Singing from about the age of seven (7), Mario has also done his fair share of performing in Jamaican theatre, scoring the understudy for ‘Timon’ in “The Lion King”, and the lead for ‘Daniel’ in “Once on This Island”. Prior to being accepted to Berklee College of Music, Mario completed a medical degree at the University of the West Indies, and worked full-time as a medical doctor for 2 years, which he now does inbetween semesters. He has also had good experience singing backup vocals for many established, as well as upcoming artistes, including Stevie Face, Benjy Myaz, Camar (pka Flava Unit), the Rocky 5 band, Alaine and Cezar.
