Maria Ahearn moved from the northern town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea to study for a B.mus music degree at the University of Kingston-upon-Thames Surrey. She has a versatile and athletic voice and can sing anything from Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Bassey, Nirvana, Beatles, Kate Bush (Maria sings an incredible version of Wurthering Heights), P.J. Harvey, etc. Expect originals and covers, coupled with a highly unique stage-presence, sung with sophistication, dexterity and passion.
