“It took a while for Marcela Pinilla to realize singing was her passion. A native of Bogota, Colombia, Pinilla, 27, auditioned and was chosen to sing a song with Tuna, a traditional Spanish band, when she was in the fourth grade. But, she said, “I didn’t want to be a singer. That was not my dream.””

“The “Latin Voice of Memphis” shares her new sound with Memphis. Marcela Pinilla, vocalist from Colombia and Memphian by choice, will celebrate the release of Passion—her first full-length album—with a special show at the 1884 Lounge in Minglewood Hall on Thursday, May 9th. Produced by Memphis’ own Niko Lyras from Cotton Row Recording Studios, Passion showcases Pinilla’s incredible vocal and writing talents and features collaborations with Grammy Award-winning bassist Victor Wooten, Memphis sax legend Kirk Whalum and a host of some of Memphis finest musicians including Tony Thomas and Lil Rounds.”

"Mi objetivo con este album es el uso de la musica para unir a la gente diferentes culturas y origenes" -Marcela Pinilla
