The remixes are like the Red Bull in my Jagermeister Bombs that got me drunk last night. Whoever saw gold in MKIO's remixes is a genius in my book. The Los Angeles based Mankind Is Obsolete has a lot of friends in small places. The friends' have their own little piece of the world where they cultivated the phenomenal remixes, in sunny rooms, by computerized sound boards, main-framed by colorful visions of how they think MKIO should sound when they hear the voice of Natasha Cox coming out of their studio monitors.”

"The band’s female lead singer, Natasha, delivers vocals that are scratchy and growly like what would normally appear on a metal album, yet she can also sing just as beautifully as more well-known female rock artists like Evanescence’s Amy Lee. Mankind is Obsolete put on a very energetic performance. Natasha was especially fun to watch because she danced around stage so much, swinging her ponytail and at times performing a move that can only be described as playing an imaginary guitar. Riveting, explosive, profound, powerful, scary the way they get in your head, make you wanna do stuff...(you'll come up with your own stuff).... Very tight, very professional – way too good for Greenville. They’re on the level of arena type bands. More industrial than Coildwave, like Nine Inch Nails with a girl singer. “Mankind is Obsolete hit the stage around 10:45 and it was apparently from the start that you could tell they’ve toured a lot. Tight, charismatic, and showmen (well, and showwoman) to the hilt, they reminded me in some ways of Bella Morte in their earlier days. While the music was loud and chaotic for the 4-piece you could tell they were having a good time. Lead singer/sometime keyboardist Natasha was genuinely appreciative of the crowd and kicked the energy into high gear with bassist and backing vocalist Gordon Bash. Drummer Jon Siren’s precision drumming didn’t waste a single movement for maximum power with every hit (his style reminded me a bit of Vince from Cesium 137’s frenetic playing), and Scott Landes’ guitar work complemented the band nicely. Natasha and Gordon commanded most of the focus though, going through material from their entire catalogue, from “Puppet” to their closing track “Passing Through” (which warranted several fans to come up close and get the”

“While Mankind Is Obsolete ( or mkio ) has been around for awhile this album (believe it or not) was my first listening experience to them. Even though this is mainly a remix album it has sold me enough to want to go back and listen to the original tracks these remixes were based off of!”

“There are some independent acts in the music world today that affirm the true value of hard work. One such act is Los Angeles-based goth/industrial rock band Mankind Is Obsolete, or MKIO. The band was formed in late 2002 by vocalist Natasha Cox and drummer Jon Siren. After recently undergoing a lineup change, the other members now include keyboardist Brian DiDomenico, guitarist Scott Landes, and bassist Joe D'Ambra. MKIO at this point has an EP and two full-length albums under its belt: Metamorph, Rise, and Trapped Inside, respectively.
