Bio
Mandy Gale's "Emotionally Gripping" songwriting voice, coupled with her stylistically unique vocal delivery has been described as "Sultry", "Truthful", and "Americana Gold", by some of the Industry's top Professionals. Gale has received much press, recently with her duet titled "As Far Away" (with co-writer Paul Kenny), in Dec 2008 of the VH1 Song of the Year Songwriting Competition. Gale placed in the VH1 Song of the Year Songwriting Competition the past 4 consecutive years (Contest judges include Grammy Award-Winning Artists such as Norah Jones, Eric Clapton and Tom Waits). In February 2006, Gale was also nominated by the So Cal Music Awards for "Best Blues" with, "Before You Got to Lovin' Me".
About
Gale started eagerly developing her liking to storytelling songwriting at the age of fifteen. She became intrigued by artists such as Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, and Stevie Nicks (to name a few). Her passion for the written word led her to graduate from California State University, Northridge in 1999 with a BA degree in Journalism. It was then Gale began developing her own unique songwriting style, as her love for the written blossomed.
Mandy Gale has performed solo as well as with full band at Venues such as:
The World Famous Rainbow Room on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, The Cat Club, The Derby, Verity (Topanga Canyon), Harmony Suite (Ventura County), and others since 2003.
