Maca (no not macca) is Ian McNamara, a songwriter who also avoids the solo acoustic guitar route. On ‘Downtown’ he offers a pleasantly expressive voice against an acoustic guitar driven background and a song about late night trains. ‘So I Can Grow’ has a band sound behind decent vocals and has a smart arrangement that keeps you logged on. ‘Resurrection’ changes the mood again. It’s a speedy fuzz guitar driven thing, with a funk-lite feel in places.
