About

Lyxx is:

Andrew David
Andrew David
Andrew has been shredding for 20 (gulp!) years, influenced by Guitar Gods Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettancourt and Eric Johnson. Andrew's major gigging and recording projects prior to Lyxx include Boston's New England Rocks! and ShootShoot, as well as Washington DC's Archer, whose 1992 release Enter New Light received significant mid-Atlantic attention. Andrew attended Berklee College of Music in Boston through 1990.

Adam Tempkin
Adam Tempkin
A native New Yorker originally from Queens, Adam has been playing guitar and writing songs for nearly 20 years. Trained on piano as a child, Adam switched to electric guitar at the age of 16 -- at the height of the hair-metal era and there was no turning back. He is an avid singer/songwriter in his own right, with a deep catalogue of guitar-pop oriented material. This was showcased in several of Adams original bands, such as Deadline and Shredded, that toured the NYC club circuit in the late 90's and early 00's. Shredded recorded a six-song EP of original material at Studio 900 in Manhattan on December 2003, and Adam spent years playing venues such as Continental, Elbow Room, Don Hills and Orange Bear. Though metal will always be his most passionate interest, Adam is equally influenced by 70's glam rockers New York Dolls, T. Rex, Mott the Hoople, David Bowie and Lou Reed, and his guitar style tips a hat to legends Ace Frehley, Johnny Thunders and Mick Ronson. Adam is a die-hard KISS fanatic for more than twenty-five years and is Lyxx's resident "KISStorian". He credits their music, image, attitude, and larger-than-life persona as the inspiration for picking up a guitar as a youngster and pursuing his rock n' roll dreams.

Russ Tyler
Russ Tyler
Russ Tyler has been playing music for over 20 years, originally as a guitar player. He began playing bass in the Van Halen cover band Sinner Swing, which evolved into an original project called Smokn. After Smokn burnt out, Russ worked with progressive rock/metal bands Ice Angel and Permanent Front, which toured extensively in the tri-state area. Russ also has extensive studio experience. He joined Lyxx in 2004, and the rest is history in the making.

Jason Braun
Jason Braun
From the other side of the Hudson comes Jersey-raised Jason Braun, with lungs of steel and a passion for all things loud. Originally a keyboardist from early on, Jason also found himself drawn toward the powerful vocals of classic rock heavy-hitters Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant and Freddy Mercury. Then came the 80's... and Jason's attraction to arena rock and heavy metal came alive. He spent much of his time emulating the vocal styles of Jon Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Bruce Dickinson and many other frontmen of the era. As the lead vocalist/keyboardist for Jersey-based cover band Instant Replay, he sang his way through a song list that included a sprinkling of the heavy stuff, nestled among songs by Journey, Cheap Trick, Foreigner, J. Geils and plenty of one hit wonders of the day. From their appearance on the NJ band circuit in '91, Jason enjoyed the experience of each of Replay's perfomances, though in his heart, there was much more metal than his bandmates were aware of. He honed his craft with them for nearly eight years before they disbanded in 1999. Since then, he has been watching... patiently in the shadows... microphone in hand... waiting for the right musicians to release him from his vocal silence... a band who loves the hard-hitting arena rock and high-haired heavy metal as much as he does. And Lyxx is that band.

Rogelio Perea
Rogelio Perea
Born and raised in northern Mexico, Rogelio started to play guitar at the age of 8. After learning the traditional spanish soft ballads, exposure to the works of Electric Light Orchestra turned the aspiring musician on to rock music - then after a short (very short) stint with disco music, Detroit Rock City by KISS turned him completely toward the rock arena for good. Rogelio counts among his major influences, in no particular order: Led Zeppelin, Rush, Kiss, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Deep Purple, The Who and Pink Floyd. Prior to relocating to the tri-state area in 2004 - and ultimately finding himself on the Lyxx throne - Rogelio played in a number of original and cover bands and performed solo throughout the Southwest.
About LYXX

Lyxx formed in May 2003 when guitarists Adam Tempkin and Andrew David and the bands prior vocalist decided to combine their love of 80s metal with a desire to rock the NYC club scene. After several personnel changes, bassist Russ Tyler and drummer Mark the Sorcerer Dara joined the project in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Vocalist Jay Braun, Lyxxs most recent addition, joined the band in June 2006 and completed the current lineup.
Lyxx melds incredible musicianship with a strong sense of fun, playing some of rocks best music like they wrote it and getting fists pumping in the air at every show! Although emphasizing kick-ass 80s hair-metal, Lyxx was formed to let its members play what they love fans are treated to an ample helping of 70s Glam (Mott the Hoople; T. Rex) and 80s Thrash (Megadeth; Slayer) mixed in with arena-rock favorites like Kiss, Whitesnake, Dokken, Def Leppard and Journey. Great playing ability mixed with backing vocals a mile thick lets Lyxx nail it all. If youve listened to rock in the last 30 years, you are going to love Lyxx! ________________________________________
