I liked things that stood alone. Trees, lighthouses, lone lampposts. And ships, although these pass you, and pass away. Except for those that you have embarked yourself.

To be busy with your own passing sounds worse than to be busy with your own smelling.
Now I wonder if voluntarily choosing the role of the lighthouse to observe the fleet pass you+cross the horizon is not even closer to absolute ridiculousness.*
So I've built a ship to sail where you sail and pass where you pass.
It's gonna be a lot of /fun/?!
