About the Band:
Lucid has been touring and playing their brand of rock/blues for the last four years, pleasing fans all over New England: in their home town of Plattsburgh at The Monopole, across the lake in Burlington, Vermont at the reputable venue Higher Ground (highergroundmusic.com), in New York City, Albany, Boston, and any towns in between that welcome their fury and finesse. Rising in popularity, their album “Miles Deep” is played frequently on radio stations in both New York and Vermont. Coming soon for Lucid: a show supporting well-known act Tea Leaf Green at Higher Ground, and a tour to the West Coast winding through the plain states with a stop at Lake Tahoe, then on to southern California, and then back across the Southwest and Southeast before returning home.<!--StartFragment-->
Lucid recently performed at the 2nd annual Backwoods Pondfest: a two-day music festival that they conceived in 2007 with KALI Productions, and put on this year with additional support from Boire Designs. Not only did the band close the show both nights this year, playing with Assembly of Dust, The Ryan Montbleau Band, The Breakfast, and RAQ, they also contributed to all aspects of the show: building the stage, managing and participating in the stage crew and security teams, and providing and executing the lighting for the show. This is a band of seasoned professionals.
A completely original band, Lucid has been producing their own albums since their inception. Their debut album, "Miles Deep," was recorded in Vermont at Chuck Eller Studios. The production in this release reflects the outstanding professionalism of the studio: Chuck has worked with bands like The Allman Brothers, Phish, and Oysterhead – all influences on the members of the band. Lucid is currently putting the finishing touches on their second album, due to be released in early December 2008. Always interested in fresh approaches, they pursued a more homegrown sound, recording with producer, engineer, rapper, and good friend Benn Erb.
Lucid's sound can be described as a brew of blues, rock, and funk that finds far-reaching appeal over all ages and backgrounds. A wide array of instrumentation gives them the ability to create organic and diverse pieces of music that evoke familiarity while maintaining a fresh approach to classic styles.
