TRUE GIFT
Copyright 2/1/2012 Lyrics-John Teunis
The alarm goes off and I hit the snooze,
‘Cause I was out late night drinking booze.
I finally get up and out of bed,
A half hour late for a job I dread.
I come in late and I don’t call in.
I tell you a story about where I’ve been.
I tell you a story about what I do.
Give me an inch, I’ll take a mile or two.

I let things fall right through the cracks.
Let somebody else pick up my slack.
Half a day and I’ve had enough.
I take off early to go play golf.
I have this feeling of entitlement.
Give me a check to pay my rent.
Give me some money to play tonight.
A piece-of-cake job is my given right.

Maybe I’ve have a true gift,
Only working for half of my shift.
Though I owe you a hundred,
Can I give you fifty instead.
Maybe I’ve got a true gift.
Only working half of my shift.
Though I owe you a hundred.
I’ll give you fifty instead.

My boss is usually on my case.
Says I have a problem I need to face.
Says I need to work at what I do
But I’d rather be out there fooling you.
So now I’m out and I’m unemployed,
I’ve got no job and I don’t enjoy,
Full time pay for some half ass work.
I’ll have to run a scheme on another jerk..

Maybe I’ve have a true gift,
Only working for half of my shift.
Though I owe you a hundred,
Can I give you fifty instead.
Maybe I’ve got a true gift.
Only working half of my shift.
Though I owe you a hundred.
I’ll give you fifty instead.
