Amanda Anne Platt (of The Honeycutters fame) will open the show with her beautiful and powerful original songs. LOVESTRUCK SUCKERS: Open your hearts and open your ears. Bring smiles, bring tears, bring your hopes, bring your doubts, and we will work them all out. If you’ve ever broken hearts or had yours broken, if you’ve ever said too much or wished that you’d spoken, if you’ve ever loved, or longed for love, or longed for truth, Lovestruck Suckers are playing for you. With Silas Durocher on vocals and guitar supported by a soulful string trio, Lovestruck Suckers creates a unique and beautiful musical experience. Durocher’s lyrics explore themes such as heartbreak, love, and how to find beauty and motivation in a capricious world. These are raw, personal songs sung with passion and honesty and brought richly to life by the emotive strings. Durocher has played with many of Asheville, NC’s most loved bands: Soulgrass Rebellion, The Get Right Band, Laura Reed and Deep Pocket, David Earl and The Plowshares, Josh Phillips Trio, Afromotive, Pierce Edens and The Dirty Work, Laura Blackley, and his own chamber rock ensemble, Silas Durocher and Everybody Knows. With his latest project, Lovestruck Suckers, Durocher teams up with members of The Opal String Quartet to bring a more intimate, emotional musical experience to audiences. Amy Lovinger (violin), Kara Poorbaugh (viola), and Franklin Keel (cello) bring years of musical education and diverse performance history with The Asheville Symphony, Sirius B, Orquestra Classica da Madeira Portugal, Asheville Lyric Opera, Raleigh Symphony, and Symphony of the United Nations.
